Toy Story is a 1995 American computer-animated comedy-drama film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film was directed by John Lasseter and written by Joss Whedon, Andrew Stanton, Joel Cohen, and Alec Sokolow. It stars Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Jim Varney, Annie Potts, R. Lee Ermey, John Morris, and Laurie Metcalf. The film follows a group of anthropomorphic toys who come to life when their human owner, Andy Davis, is not around. When Andy gets a new toy for his birthday, a cowboy doll named Woody, the other toys become jealous and try to get rid of him. However, Woody and the other toys eventually learn to get along and become friends.
